What is more beautiful than two people in love? How about two people proclaiming that love AGAIN in front of their family and friends with their three gorgeous children by their side? On a sunny fall afternoon we were blessed to witness Dan & Melissa Conway’s such love. And of course we just HAD to share this sneak peek!

Together with the fabulous Brooke Ringdahl Photography, Studio B Floral, Paper Thick Ink, Simply Modern, Little Dreamers Tutus and Apres Party Rental, we created the perfect backyard affair for the Conway’s to share with their guests.

What do you get when you add some delicate blush paint, a shimmery gold chevron accent wall and Queen Anne vintage furniture, why simply loves wedding & design’s FIRST office of course!!!! :) That’s right, we did it! We took the plunge and decided that the next logical step for our business should be to rent an office {ekkkk}. Or, as the hubby likes to call it, “a playhouse.” :) So now that we have the beginnings of our new home underway {with much much more work left to do}, it’s time to get down to business planning some fabuously gorgeous I do’s! Which we will definitely enjoy even more from our new “playhouse!”

So, I started this blog with every intention in the world to become amazing at it! I read other blogs day and night and I think, “I could totally do this!”. WRONG! I am a HORRIBLE BLOGGER! The purpose of this blog is to help me communicate and show potentional brides, fiance’s, family and friends just what we can do to make their special day completely stress free and absolutey amazing, yet I seem to forget to update it with pictures of our work! So, a blogger I am not! This I have learned. What I do know is that I’m a wedding planner, and not to toot my own horn (well maybe just one toot!), a pretty darn great one at that! And I would love to sit here and promise that I will post images upon images of our weddings, but I probbaly won’t. So, this blog is growing up and becoming an official website!!!!! YIPPPPEEEE!!! I will still keep the blog once the website is launched with again the hopes that one day I’ll become this amaizng blogger, but until then, at least future couples will be able enjoy some of our favorite moments from our creative and delightfully designed weddings of this past year!

I don’t even know where to begin or how to express my complete and utter gratitude for my FIRST WEDDING FEATURE!!! I have been DYING to share all the glorious details of Sarah + Travis’s amazing wedding day from this past June, but of course I had to wait for the beyond talented ladies of the WEDDING CHICKS to do all the talking {click on the picture to learn more}… or should I say posting! he he… seriously, I’m literally delirious by this!! So, I’m going to stop and let you read for yourself!

And none of these memories would have been captured or featured if it wasn’t for the fabulous Brooke Ringdahl Photography! I am so grateful for having worked with such an amazing lady!

With our anniversary tomorrow, I have found myself reminiscing over wedding pictures, mentally reviewing our first year as Mr. + Mrs. and remembering the beginning of us.

It all began with a wedding, where Travis was smitten with the girl in the red shoes. Dancing the night away, a simple chance meeting quickly grew into a future forever.

Honestly speaking, I thought my “ladies room challenge” would have ended the night of the wedding. But I quickly realized I was more interested than I first expected when I cancelled a Wild game date and invite him over for dinner three days later. Yes, I actually made dinner for our first date! Many months and countless moves later, it was becoming obvious to everyone that Travis wasn’t the only smitten one.

A wedding may have been how it all started, but it has been the memories we’ve shared and the lessons we’ve learned together that has made us who we are today. We now spend our winters on the slopes, our nights watching “What Not To Wear” and many summer WT weekends at the races, truly embracing each others hobbies and interests as our own. With initial thoughts of “it’s about time’ when Travis finally proposed, this girl in the red shoes has finally realized that we have only begun writing “our story” together. And hopefully my dancing partner will continue a life of being smitten.. and doing the dishes!
